The osprey is a bird of prey, common in both hemispheres, the only representative of the skopin family (Pandionidae).
Ospreys are distributed throughout the world, breeding or wintering on every continent except Antarctica.

Nests are usually located 3-5 km from water: swamps, lakes, reservoirs or rivers, but can also be arranged in a good place above the water.
